Positive: The unit had more than enough space for the two of us with a comfortable living room and back deck. We loved having the washer and dryer. The unit was clean and the kitchen was well-stocked with utensils. It was quick to find and use as a base for exploring Mt. Cook. We would have enjoyed exploring more of the area on a longer stay.
Negative: The unit is cozy, clean, and comfortable, but it has more of a neighborhood feel and lacks a big view of the beautiful surroundings. We felt safe in the neighborhood, but one of the days, a dog barking next door woke us up early in the morning. The kitchen counter bar stools are too tall to use, so that takes away from the lovely kitchen. We had a bit of trouble figuring out how to get the oven started and tried to call the host, but did not hear from them for a couple of days. Luckily, we figured out that we had to turn on the switch on the wall behind the sink.
Summary: This is a nice base for exploring Mt. Cook and was more affordably priced during our stay.
